Features and Interesting Facts
- The 18 inch wheels do not mean you have to pedal more. All Birdys have a large front chainring that componesates for the smaller wheels
- The Birdy can easily be folded with carriers n less than 15 seconds, it's no hassle to (un)fold it several times a day.
- With only three main foldin joints all operated by hand, folding your Birdy couldn't be simpler.
- The Birdy is so small, it can easily fit in the boot of a car, under a desk or behind a couch. Always by your side, exposure to thieves or the elements is minimal.
- The Birdy makes an ideal travel companion and is fantastic for taking overseas.
- Weighing in at only 10 - 12kgs the Birdy can easilyl be carried on the train, bus or ferry.
- The Birdy frame is made of a high grade aluminium alloy which makes it regid and rust resistant.

Birdy Suspension. A smoothe ride.
One of the special features of the Birdy is its unique suspension design. Because small wheels do not offer the same natral suspension effect that large wheels do, suspension is important on small wheeled bikes especially on longer distance rides or bumby urban roads. |
The suspension on the Birdy forms an ntegral part of the frame design. By using the pivot poits of the rear and front swingarm for both folding and suspension, the designers have achieved a jointless main frmae, which is stiff, stable and light. This unique suspension design ensures you have a comfortable ride without comprising on speed, performance or weight. |
The integration of folding and suspension mechanisms also allows the usage of low maintenance and easy to change suspension parts. Typical front fork suspension systems on other bikes can cause a diving of the bike under heavy braking. Birdy features an innovative leading-link (anti-dive) suspension system that remains stable under braking. |

The front suspension utilizes a spring plus a ruber dampening device. Two springs are available in red or black with the black giving a stiffer ride. | |||
| The rear suspension utilizes a simple elastomer under compression. All BIrdys come with teh red (medium)elastomer as standard. This can be changed in seconds to a stiffer (green) or softer (yellow) elastomer to tune the suspension to your riding style and weight. See the graph to the right for details. |

Fitting the Birdy to You
| The Birdy comes in only one frame size, but is highly adjustable to different rider sizes and riding styles. It is suitable for riders up to 1.95m. Take a look at this panel to see the range of adjustments possible. | ||

 The Seatpost height is adjustable over a wide range. As you change the height you are also changing the reach because the seatpost is angled backwards a lot more than on other bikes. |
 The saddle is on rails and can moved back and forth to change the reach. The angle can also easily be changed. |

Touring and travelling with the Birdy are a delight....Panniers can be fitted easily, and there's a range of bag options to suit your needs. The specially designed front and rear racks cleverly fold with the bike so they don' need to be removed. Even after you've fitted front and rear racks, the folded size of the bike remains the same.
