Bmx race bikes are designed to be lightweight for rapid acceleration and handling, frames are either made from aluminium or titanium with chromoly, aluminium or carbon forks. Race bike wheels range from 16” to 26” in size and have 36 spokes for durability, however smaller size wheels often have less spokes. The most popular wheel size is 20”.
