Cassettes

Cassettes are a cluster of sprockets of varying gear ratios with a series of splines, which when fitted and secured to the freehub body by means of a threaded lock-ring provide a freewheel action. Cassettes are significantly different from freewheels in as much that the freewheel sprockets and the freewheel mechanism are one combined unit and when worn the entire freewheel is replaced.
