Why Cycle-Osaka?

Cycle-Osaka provides small-group guided bike tours of Osaka in English. We think that this city is a bike city, so instead of missing out on all the fun while squished onto packed commuter trains; we make sure that our guests get to experience the beauty, energy and atmosphere of Osaka in the best possible way, on two wheels.

Having crisscrossed Osaka by bike thousands times over the years, we are sure we have the insider knowledge to show you an unforgettable trip around town. The coolest cafes, the quaintest temples, the greenest parks and the best photo opportunities are waiting just beneath the surface in Japan’s most underrated city.

On top of this, we are travellers, just like you, so if you need any advice for après bike things to do, let us show you our picks for the best sushi, the best beers and the best Takoyaki in town. Don’t know Takoyaki? You will after a day with Cycle-Osaka!

When we ask our friends what they remember from Osaka, they say the crazy food, the friendly people, and the bicycles! Here’s why you should do it on two wheels:

  • It’s pretty flat! Despite the name (literally meaning ‘big hill’) Osaka is actually really very flat which makes it great for bikes.

  • It’s authentic; Osakans really do bike everywhere, so you can see the city as the locals do.

  • It’s healthy, get your heart beating and really earn your evening indulgences!

  • It’s environmentally friendly, Osaka really doesn’t need any more cars, trust us on that!

  • It’s a great size for biking, too big to explore properly on foot, but much more manageable than the capital, and certainly ‘doable’ in a day.

  • It’s easy, leave the spaghetti-like train maps at home, and let us prepare you a course to cram in everything you want to see in a day.

  • It’s dry! That’s actually not 100% true, but coming from the north of England, we can assure you that Osaka is not a rainy place!

  • It’s unpredictable, there are so many festivals and other events going off that are never advertised in English, we often stumble across them on our bikes.

  • It’s friendly, meet people from across the world and give your fb wall an international flavour.
