Hydration packs have long been used by hikers, military and cyclists, the hydration system consists of a backpack or waist pack which contains an internal, removable bladder or reservoir which stores a specific amount of liquid intended for hydration purposes, the bladder is stored within the backpack, which often also includes some storage capacity to pack essentials for the daily hike or cycle ride. A flexible or mouldable hose is connected to the bladder, the hose end is sealed with a bite valve, which is positioned to be in close proximity to the wearers mouth, enabling hands-free access to the liquid when the user bites down on the valve. Reservoir sizes vary from 1.0 to 3.0 litres.
