Disc Rotors
Disc brake rotors are available in several mount types and sizes such as 140mm, 160mm, 185mm and 203mm. Large rotors provide greater stopping power and dissipate heat more quickly than smaller rotors, an important factor in downhill events when brakes are applied more often and for greater periods of time, excessive heat causes the rotors and brake pads to glaze, warp or crack and reduces braking performance, smaller rotors however have significant weight savings and are often used on mountain trail or cross-country bikes.
