Clip In (also called Clipless) pedals are used by many road and off-road cyclists, it enables a riders foot to remain secured to the pedal and obtain maximum power transfer with the ability to quickly and easily exit the pedal by twisting the foot outward, this mechanism also enables the foot to exit the pedal in the event of a fall preventing further injury. Road pedals differ significantly to that of mountain pedals and each require shoes specific to their shoe type.
