Chain locks
The majority of bicycle chain link locks provide a higher level of security than cable locks but a lower level than harden steel u-locks or folding locks, chains which have been harden provide increased protection however the locking mechanism (typically a padlock) needs also to have a matched level of hardness and be anti-pick. Chain link locks provide a reasonable deterent to theft in the majority of cases.
